ABOUT COACH HAYES
Adrian Hayes since stepping down as head coach from the San Diego Waves (2018-2019) and Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans (2008-2018) Adrian Hayes has been running HAYES Academy. HAYES Academy has grown in since 2018 now over 40 athletes in the San Diego Area and many more nationally.
Adrian initiated the H.A.Y.E.S. (Helping Athletes Yield Elite Skills) Camp. He has a passion to work with local youth on improving their basketball knowledge and game skills through a series of camps and clinics. H.A.Y.E.S. Academy is continuing to grow and gain in popularity and as a result, Coach Hayes has expanded these camps and clinics to various states like Texas, Arizona, Colorado and California. ​
Adrian Hayes is a native of Austin, Texas. As a player he led his high school team to their best record in School history. Coach Hayes was a starter for the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks men’s basketball team. He led the Big Sky conference in blocked shots in 2004 and is still among the top shot-blockers in Big Sky Conference history. After graduating from Northern Arizona, he pursued his professional career by participating in training camp for the Austin Toro’s, a National Basketball Development League (NBDL) team, in 2004. Then finally signing with a professional team in 2005. Adrian played professionally in Ensenada, Mexico for the MEXICAN LIGA NACIONAL DE BASQUETBOL(LNBP) before suffering a knee injury that ended his playing career. At that time Adrian Hayes joined the Colorado Northwestern Men’s basketball program (2008-2018) where he is still the all time winning basketball coach in CNCC program history.
HAYES Academy is a business that is located to San Diego California where athletes can receive Individual Skills Training, attend Camps and Clinics, or join small group sessions. His goal is to continue to HELP ATHLETES YIELD ELITE SKILLS through training, attention to detail and footwork. With over 12 years of coaching experience he knows what it takes to grow your game.
